Il Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale (MAECI) offre borse di studio in favore di studenti stranieri* e cittadini italiani residenti all\u2019estero (IRE)** per l\u2019Anno Accademico 2020-2021, con l\u2019obiettivo di favorire la cooperazione in campo culturale, scientifico e tecnologico, la proiezione del sistema economico dell\u2019Italia nel mondo e la diffusione della conoscenza della lingua e cultura italiana (Rif. Legge 288\/55 e successive modifiche e integrazioni).
Le borse di studio sono destinate quest\u2019anno esclusivamente ai rinnovi per il completamento dei programmi di studio, formazione e\/o ricerca presso Istituzioni italiane statali o legalmente riconosciute, gi\u00e0 in corso nell\u2019anno accademico 2019-2020.
La borsa di studio copre soltanto la frequenza di corsi sul territorio italiano.
La lista dei Paesi beneficiari \u00e8 consultabile alla seguente pagina del Portale \u201cStudy in Italy\u201d: https:\/\/studyinitaly.esteri.it\/en\/call-for-procedure.
Art. 1
TIPOLOGIE DI BORSE DI STUDIO
Le borse di studio per corsi universitari di Laurea Magistrale, i corsi di alta formazione professionale, artistica e musicale (AFAM) e Dottorati di Ricerca possono avere una durata di 9 (nove) mesi, salvo diverse disposizioni che saranno oggetto di separata comunicazione dall\u2019Ufficio VII – DGSP alle sedi interessate.

Art. 2
REQUISITI DI ACCESSO
Le candidature possono essere presentate esclusivamente da coloro che saranno in possesso dei seguenti requisiti alla data di scadenza del bando (2 OTTOBRE 2020, 14.00 ora italiana).
Possono candidarsi coloro che abbiano usufruito della borsa di studio MAECI nell\u2019Anno Accademico 2019-2020 per la prosecuzione o il completamento di un corso di studi pluriennale di cui all\u2019art. 1, presentando normale domanda. Il rinnovo della borsa \u00e8 concesso ai soli candidati che certifichino di aver sostenuto esami per un numero minimo di 15 crediti (CFU) o, per i dottorandi, una valutazione positiva del lavoro svolto comprovata da una lettera di attestazione del loro tutor.
Art. 3
DECORRENZA DELLA BORSA
Le borse oggetto del presente bando possono essere usufruite dal 1 novembre 2020 al 31 luglio 2021. Uno spostamento del periodo di validit\u00e0 della borsa, opportunamente motivato, potr\u00e0 essere richiesto entro e non oltre il 13 ottobre 2020 e dovr\u00e0 essere autorizzato dall\u2019Ufficio VII – DGSP.
Art. 4
INAMMISSIBILIT\u00c0
I dipendenti di Uffici della Pubblica Amministrazione italiana e i loro discendenti di I\u00b0 grado sono esclusi dalla concessione delle borse di studio.
Le borse di studio MAECI non sono concesse per la frequenza di corsi presso Istituzioni straniere, con sede in Italia o all\u2019estero, n\u00e9 presso Istituti, Centri o laboratori di ricerca privati non riconosciuti dal Ministero dell\u2019Universit\u00e0 e della Ricerca italiano.
Le domande presentate da candidati privi dei requisiti richiesti non saranno prese in considerazione.
Art. 5
PRESENTAZIONE DELLA DOMANDA
Le candidature per la selezione relativa all\u2019assegnazione delle borse di studio dovranno essere inviate esclusivamente per via telematica, accedendo al Portale Study in Italy

Nella registrazione al Portale Study in Italy si raccomanda di utilizzare un indirizzo email stabile e di uso frequente; successive comunicazioni saranno infatti inviate a tale indirizzo.
Le candidature online devono essere trasmesse dal candidato entro le 14.00 (ora italiana) del 2 OTTOBRE 2020.
Le candidature pervenute oltre tale termine saranno considerate irricevibili.
Art. 6
PROCEDURE DI SELEZIONE E ASSEGNAZIONE DELLE BORSE
6.1 Selezione dei candidati
Le candidature saranno esaminate da una commissione istituita dalla Rappresentanza Diplomatica competente per territorio.
6.2 Procedure di Assegnazione
L\u2019assegnazione delle borse di studio sar\u00e0 effettuata sulla base del possesso dei requisiti richiesti dall\u2019art. 2.
6.3 Pubblicazione della lista dei vincitori
La Rappresentanza Diplomatica competente provveder\u00e0 alla pubblicazione della lista dei vincitori sul proprio sito Internet.
Art. 7
PAGAMENTO TASSE DI ISCRIZIONE
I vincitori di borse di studio offerte dal Governo italiano possono beneficiare dell\u2019esonero dal pagamento delle tasse di iscrizione e dei contributi universitari sulla base di quanto stabilito da ogni singola universit\u00e0 in base alla normativa sull\u2019autonomia delle Universit\u00e0.
Art. 8
COPERTURA ASSICURATIVA MEDICA
I borsisti beneficiano di una polizza assicurativa a carico del MAECI per la copertura di eventuali spese per malattie o infortuni esclusivamente per la durata della borsa di studio.
Sono escluse dalla copertura assicurativa le malattie dipendenti da condizioni fisiche o patologiche pre-esistenti.

Art. 9
PAGAMENTO DELLA BORSA
Il vincitore di una borsa di studio MAECI ricever\u00e0 un importo mensile di 900 euro erogato con cadenza trimestrale sul conto corrente a lui intestato presso un istituto bancario italiano.
Il pagamento della borsa di studio potr\u00e0 essere effettuato esclusivamente a seguito dell\u2019iscrizione presso l\u2019Istituzione prescelta e della presentazione da parte del borsista della documentazione richiesta, con le tempistiche amministrative necessarie.
I pagamenti verranno effettuati dopo il termine di ogni trimestre.
L\u2019ultima rata di pagamento verr\u00e0 erogata solamente dopo l\u2019accertamento del buon andamento del percorso accademico prescelto.
Art. 10
INCOMPATIBILIT\u00c0
La borsa di studio assegnata \u00e8 incompatibile con ogni altra borsa di studio erogata dal Governo Italiano o da Enti pubblici italiani, incluse quelle del diritto allo studio regionale.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers grants in favor of
foreign citizens in Italy* and Italian citizens living abroad (IRE)** for academic year 2020-2021 in
order to foster international cooperation in cultural, scientific and technological fields, to promote
Italian language and culture and to support Italy\u2019s economic system in the world (According to Law
288\/55 and its subsequent changes and additions).
This year, grants are exclusively for renewals to complete study courses and research\/training
programs which:
– have been already started in the academic year 2019-2020;
– are attended in public or legally recognized Italian educational institution.
Scholarships are available to attend academic courses in Italy only.

Art. 1
GRANTS OPPORTUNITIES
Grants for Master\u2019s Degree courses, Courses of Higher Education in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM),
and PhD program are awarded for a period of study of 9 (nine) months, unless otherwise stated on
a separate communication from the DGSP \u2013 Office VII to the relevant Italian Missions.
Art. 2
ELIGIBILITY

Applicants who will meet the following requirements by the deadline of this call (October 2nd 2020, 2 p.m. C.E.T.) may apply for a grant. According to the present call, only the candidates who have received a MAECI grant in the academic year 2019-2020 may apply, following the ordinary procedure, in order to continue or complete a multi-year study course, as referred to in art. 1. Renewals are granted only to applicants who can prove to have given exams for a minimum of 15 credits (CFU) or, for Ph.D. students, presenting a letter from their tutor\/supervisor stating the positive progress of their studies, in the previous academic year. Art. 3 FUNDING PERIOD Grants are awarded for a period of study from November 1st, 2020 to July 31st 2021. A different period can be requested, duly motivated, and submitted for authorization to the DGSP \u2013 Office VII. Art. 4 INELIGIBILITY Italian Public Administration employees and their first-degree descendants can not apply for grants. Grants cannot be awarded to attend Bachelor\u2019s Degree courses (first cycle) or Single Cycle Degree Programs with the sole exception of renewals for study courses started before the academic year 2020-2021. Besides, grants cannot be awarded to attend courses in foreign Institutions based in Italy or abroad, nor in private Institutes, Research Centres or Labs not recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education, University, and Research (MIUR). Applications not meeting the eligibility criteria will not be considered. Applications must be submitted by 2 pm C.E.T. October 2nd, 2020.
Applications submitted after the deadline will be rejected.
Art. 6
SELECTION AND AWARDING OF GRANTS
6.1 Selection
Applications will be evaluated by a Committee set up by the Italian Diplomatic Mission accredited
in the applicant\u2019s country of origin.
6.2 Awarding
Grants will be awarded on the basis of the criteria indicated in art. 2 of the present call.
6.3 Ranking
The relevant Diplomatic Mission will publish on its website the list of grantees.
Art. 7
TUITION FEES
Grantees may be exempted from the payment of enrollment and tuition fees depending on the
policy of each University.
Art. 8
HEALTH AND MEDICAL INSURANCE
Grantees will be covered by a health and medical\/accident insurance contracted by MAECI for the
entire duration of the grant.
Illnesses dependeing on pre-existing physical or pathological conditions are excluded from the
insurance coverage.
Art. 9
TERMS OF GRANT
Grantees will receive a 900 Euros monthly allowance on a quarterly basis, which will be paid on
their Italian bank account.

The first installment of the grant can be received only after the completion of University enrollment and the submission of all the documents requested according to the necessary administrative procedures. Individual payments will be made after the end of each quarter. The last installment of the grant will be paid only upon verification of satisfactory academic progress. Art. 10 INCOMPATIBILITY The grant is incompatible with any other grant offered by the Italian Government or any other Italian public institution, including the scholarships provided by educational regional authorities and agencies.
